Summer Memories

I remember

I remember many things about that summer;
The warm haunting loveliness of
Soft summer nights
When my heart was filled
With strange bittersweet sadness,
And the bright clear days which brought
Painful aching joy to me.

I remember

I remember full silvery moons
Reflected in blue eyes,
And sunlight playing on
Golden hair.

I remember

Stars and rainbows,
Sunsets and sunrises,
Mist and meadows,
And all things beautiful.
All things are gone now,
Except for the memories:

And I remember.
