Yad Hashmona

This section shows photos of Yad Hashmona. Yad Hashmona is a moshav located near Abu Ghosh, an Arab-Israeli village just outside Jerusalem. A moshav (in Hebrew: “settlement”) is an agriculture village, where the property is privately held (as opposed to the Kibbutz where the property is shared by the community) but some of the the resources and labor are shared, including collective investments. Yad Hashmona has beautiful views of the surrounding Judean Hills, a hotel, a stable, and a Biblical Garden. We stayed in Revive Israel’s guest house. It was built and developed by Finnish volunteers in the early ’70’s. More information can be found on their Web site here.
