Roman theater built in the late first or early second century A.D. It was carved into the bedrock on the steep northern slope of the hill. It seated around 4,000. The rows of seats constructed on the hewn bedrock were robbed in antiquity. The lowest three rows are partly reconstructed with original stones.

On the south side of the city, and east to the Cardo, is a large building called the “Nile house” – named after one of its amazing mosaics that depicted scenes from the Nile. This is an example of geometric designs found on one floor of the building.

The Centaurs, or those who round up bulls, originate in Greek mythology, and are half man and half horse. The Centaur depicted here is holding a shield or dish with the Greek inscription: “Helpful God.”
